The cottage is designed to be as environmental as possible and has been renovated simply, using and enhancing many existing features including the painted timber linings. To reduce consumption of fossil fuels we installed an electric hot water boiler powered by a 'green' electricity tariff with renewable energy solar hot water panels. But please remember this is Scotland so bring your wooly jumpers for that un-seasonal cool spell!
This is a No Smoking house. Outside you can do as you please but please do not discard cigarette ends on the ground but dispose of them responsibly.
The Cottage has 2 parking spaces close to the cottage; one space into the garden area and the other tucked close to the dyke stone wall so to allow a car to drive passed on to the Pier. The jetty is used as a turning area at the road end. We would ask all visitors to respect other Pier users by not parking in front of shed doors. Many thanks.
The front garden is enclosed providing dog and small child play-space. Please note Applecross is a crofting area and sheep and chickens can stroll along the shoreline and close to the cottage which is very exciting for visiting dogs. Please keep your dog under control.
